Cookie Policy
This policy explains how Pentesterr uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you visit our website or use our platform.
Last updated: October 5, 2026
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Local storage is similar browser storage. They help a website remember choices, keep accounts secure, and—where you agree—measure the effectiveness of advertising.
Your choices and Google Consent Mode
On your first visit, Pentesterr asks you to choose whether optional Google Ads conversion measurement may be used. Essential storage remains active because it is needed for security and core functionality. Optional Google Ads measurement is off by default.
If you accept optional measurement, Pentesterr sends Google Consent Mode v2 signals and loads the Google tag to measure whether an ad interaction resulted in a verified Paynow payment. Pentesterr does not show third-party display ads. You can reject optional measurement or change your decision at any time using Cookie Settings in the footer.
Storage we use
Essential storage — always active
| Name / technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication and session cookies | Pentesterr | Keep you signed in and protect authenticated requests. | Session or as required for the account session |
| pentesterr_cookie_consent_v1 | Pentesterr | Stores your cookie preference so the banner does not reappear on every page. | Persistent browser local storage until changed or cleared |
| reCAPTCHA security cookies | Google reCAPTCHA | Help protect public forms and scans from automated abuse. | Set by Google; duration varies |
Optional Google Ads conversion measurement — only after consent
| Name / technology | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google tag first-party cookies (for example, _gcl_*) | Store ad-click information needed to attribute a completed purchase to an ad interaction. | Set by Google; duration varies by cookie and browser settings | |
| Google advertising cookies (for example, IDE or test_cookie) | Google / DoubleClick | Support Google Ads measurement and fraud prevention where Google and your browser permit them. | Set by Google; duration varies by cookie and browser settings |
Cookie names and durations can vary by browser, region, and Google product configuration. The optional Google tag is not loaded before you consent.
How to manage cookies
Select Cookie Settings in any Pentesterr footer to update your optional measurement choice. You may also use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login and security features from working correctly.
You can review or control Google advertising preferences through Google Ads Settings. For more information about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, see Google's partner-sites policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our technologies or legal obligations change. If a change materially affects optional measurement, we will update this page and may ask you to make a new choice.
